Some wedding days are defined by the details. Others by the people, the laughter, and those little emotional moments you couldn’t plan if you tried. Tony and Marcela’s wedding had a little bit of everything.
Their celebration took place in Jupiter, Florida, with their ceremony and reception at The Twisted Tuna – Jupiter FL. Surrounded by family and friends, the day felt intimate, relaxed, and full of personality from beginning to end.
The Details
Before the day really got moving, I started by photographing some of the details Marcela had chosen for her wedding.
Her white calla lily bouquet, lace wedding gown, jewelry, perfume, invitation, rings, and shoes all worked beautifully together. One of my favorite details was hidden underneath her shoes: “I will love you” on one and “Forever and ever” on the other.
Those small personal touches are exactly why I love photographing the details at the beginning of a wedding day. Individually they may seem small, but together they become part of the story.

Getting Ready With Marcela
Marcela spent the morning getting ready surrounded by the women closest to her. There was plenty of glam, but also plenty of laughter—which you can definitely see in the photos.
Her bridal hair and makeup were created by Veronica from VINA & CO Hair and Makeup. Veronica is the founder and lead artist behind the Palm Beach County bridal beauty team, specializing in polished bridal hair and makeup for South Florida weddings.
VINA & Co. Bridal Hair & Makeup
I especially loved photographing the progression from Marcela sitting in the makeup chair to the moment everything finally came together—the hair, makeup, headpiece, dress, bouquet and veil.

And then, of course, we had to make time for some fun with the bridal party. The matching robes, heart-shaped sunglasses and everyone laughing together created some of my favorite candid photographs from the morning.

A Few Quiet Moments With the Bride

Once Marcela was dressed, we slowed things down for a few bridal portraits before heading to the ceremony.
Her lace gown had incredible texture and detail, and the long train and veil gave us plenty to work with photographically. But what I loved most was how different these portraits felt from the energy of the getting-ready photos.
For a few minutes, everything became quiet.
These are the moments when I like to give a bride a little space and create portraits that show not only the dress and all the details she spent months choosing, but her.

Tony & Marcela’s Ceremony
The celebration continued at The Twisted Tuna Private Events in Jupiter.
The venue offers a dedicated upstairs dining area and bar for private celebrations, including wedding receptions, giving couples a space where the ceremony and celebration can come together in one location.
But one of my favorite photographs from Tony and Marcela’s ceremony has almost nothing to do with the venue.
It’s Tony wiping away a tear.

Those are the photographs I’m always watching for.
A wedding photographer can plan the portraits, choose the composition and control the lighting but you can’t manufacture a moment like that. You simply have to be present when it happens.
And apparently, their little dog had an important job too—helping Marcela make her entrance down the aisle. Definitely one of the more memorable wedding entrances I’ve photographed!

A Wedding Day That Felt Like Them
What stood out most about Tony and Marcela’s wedding was how personal it felt.
It wasn’t about creating a perfectly staged wedding day. It was about celebrating with the people they love, enjoying the moment, laughing together, and letting the day unfold naturally.

From the quiet moments of Marcela getting ready to the laughter with her bridal party and the emotion of the ceremony, there was always something genuine happening in front of the camera.
Congratulations, Tony and Marcela. Thank you for trusting me to document such an important day in your lives.
